Pastor Thompson comes to us from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he founded the Oasis Baptist Church. With over 20 years of leadership experience and more than 30 years in ministry, Pastor Thompson is deeply committed to serving God's people with excellence, integrity, and compassion. He preached his first sermon on Father's Day in 1995, was licensed to preach in August 1996, and ordained in February 1998. He earned his B.A. in Biblical Counseling and Theology (Magna Cum Laude) from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, and a Master's in Theology (Cum Laude) from Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana. He holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership (Magna Cum Laude) from Andersonville Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a second Master of Divinity from Beulah Heights University in Georgia. He is married to the lovely Carol L. Garner Thompson, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and they are the proud parents of two sons, Jeffery Jr. and JonMichael.

His wife, First Lady Carol Thompson shares his enthusiasm for joining Greater Macedonia Baptist Church as this is her homecoming. She is a woman of God who loves the Lord wholeheartedly. She is certified to instruct Zumba since September 2015. She is adept in following God's vision as she began the Woman Of Worship WOW Ministry in 2015 and it is still going strong to this day!

Together, they are excited to become part of the Macedonia family and contribute to the church’s mission.
