Dr. Jeffrey C. Thompson Sr. D. Min, BCC

Pastor J. C. Thompson, Sr. was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and is a proud graduate of Central High School of Tuscaloosa. He preached his first sermon on Father's Day in 1995, was licensed to preach in August 1996, and ordained in February 1998 under the leadership of his pastor, the late Rev. Dr. Myron Hamner, Sr., of Friendship Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.
Pastor Thompson earned his B.A. in Biblical Counseling and Theology (Magna Cum Laude) from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, and a Master's in Theology (Cum Laude) from Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana. He holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership (Magna Cum Laude) from Andersonville Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a second Master of Divinity from Beulah Heights University in Georgia.
After graduating college, Pastor Thompson moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he
served as Minister of Music for Abyssinia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late
Bishop Tom E. Diamond and Rev. Dr. Eugene W. Diamond (2000–2005). His pastoral
journey includes serving Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Prattville, Alabama
(2005–2010), First Baptist Church of Northport (2010–2014), then as the founding
pastor of Oasis Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and now serves as the ninth pastor of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church of the Northside in Jacksonville, Florida.
Pastor Thompson holds Board Certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of VA Chaplains, Association of Certified Christian Chaplains, and The Spiritual Care Association. He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
With over 20 years of leadership experience and more than 30 years in ministry, Pastor Thompson is deeply committed to serving God's people with excellence, integrity, and compassion. He is married to the lovely Carol L. Garner Thompson, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and they are the proud parents of two sons, Jeffery Jr. and JonMichael.
