Notice: Greater Macedonia Baptist Church Membership

Pastoral Election Voting Eligibility Requirements.

Anyone meeting both of the requirements listed in this section is eligible to vote in the upcoming Pastoral Election of the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church. Church leadership has deemed these requirements necessary to established and ensure clear, appropriate voter eligibility.

1.    Your name must appear on Greater Macedonia's official updated membership roster as a verified member.

2.    You must be at least 18 years of age.

   
   

Pastoral Election Voting Procedures.

• Voting will take place in a "Called Business Meeting", which has been scheduled for Sunday December 14, 2025 immediately following morning worship service here in the sanctuary. The meeting will be moderated by an officer of the church in accordance with "Robert's Rues of Order".

Meeting time and date will be posted and displayed on campus, and announced publicly for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks prior to the meeting date to ensure adequate notification.

•   For the "Called Business Meeting":

•   We estimate the meeting to last about 1 hour.

•   All visitors and guest will be asked to excuse themselves from the sanctuary.

•   We will "Verify" that all remaining persons are eligible voting members of Greater Macedonia

•   You must be present to vote. Absentee ballots, proxies, or other remote voting mechanisms will not be available.

  
  

•   All votes must be cast for one of the three vetted candidates which have advanced from the Search/Selection Committee. The floor will not be opened for nominations or discussions during the voting meeting.

  
  

•   A standing count or hand count method will be used for this election. Church leadership has determined that this is the best way to ensure, and produce accurate election results.

  
  

•   A candidate must receive at least 51% of the total votes cast to secure their selection to the Office of Pastor of the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church. In the event neither candidate receives 51%, the candidate receiving the lowest number of votes will be eliminated, and a runoff vote will be taken immediately.

  
  

•   In the runoff vote, all members identified as voting for the eliminated candidate will have the opportunity to change their vote to one of the remaining two finalists, or withdraw from the voting

  
  

•   Of the two remaining Finalists Candidates, the candidate who receives the most votes in the runoff vote will become the Pastor-Elect of the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church pending contract negotiations.

  
  

•   Immediately following the vote, the chosen candidate will be notified of the results by the selection committee.

  
  

•   As soon as possible, following the membership vote, the Deacons will meet to ratify the vote and confirm the candidate's selection as Pastor-Elect of the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, and initiate contract negotiations and start date with the selected candidate.
